2009 Chevy Impala LTZ. My car has a loud creak coming from the right front suspension when turning left into a driveway or into a dip in the pavement. Dealer says they can't find anything wrong. Now I think the left side is starting to do it when turning right. Car has 27,000 miles on the clock. Any ideas will be most helpful....Rich
Answer:
Well, your car is still under warranty, which is a good thing. You have plenty of time for the dealer to fix it for free for you. From what you describe, there are a few things that can make a noise like that. You could have a bad ball joint, or lower control arm bushings that are noisy. The strut could be bad, or possibly the upper mount.

Tie rod ends have been known to make a creaking noise when turning if they are dried out. A steering shaft usually just makes a clunking sound on turns when it is bad, so that probably isn't it. Worst case scenario is that the aluminum sub frame is making the noise due to a crack or a bad weld or damage. You may want to try a different dealership to see if they can find the problem, since there is a lot to look at.

Also, I would recommend going on a test drive with the technician on a route that you know it will cause the noise. Then you can point it out better and he might get a better feel for the problem.
