2001 Chevy Venture.
3400 V6 cyl
Codes = C1218, C1225, C1232. In the past I cleaned the connectors on the exterior of the vehicle which are located approximately under the driver's seat. I think these are the wheel speed sensor connectors. They were somewhat corroded, but this did not seem to correct the problem.
I think these are the wheel speed sensor connectors. They were somewhat corroded, but this did not seem to correct the problem.
Question = What are some things I should try to troubleshoot what the real issue is here? The codes are showing sensor problem and pump problem which sounds to me like it is likely an electrical problem giving false codes.
These codes do not seem related. The c1218 is a voltage problem between the ABS control module (EBCM) and the pump motor / brake pressure modulator valve (BPMV). This can be an internal fault in the BPMV. Some electrical test would need to be done, which requires separating the two components.
The other 2 codes are speed variations errors. Checking the connector under the van is a great place to start. If there was some corrosion, it may also be in body connector under the carpet. That half can have corrosion and cause high resistance. Would suggest pulling up the carpet to check the top half of the connector.
Sensor / hub bearings, or their related harness are common causes for speed variation codes.
