Problem with my 1999 Oldsmobile Delta 88.
Question: Problem with heater not blowing hot air...I have researched this extensively to no avail. The heater on the car does not blow hot air, the connections all seem to be in order and everything mechanical seems to work.
The electronically controlled box behind the glove box moves the two levers back and forth when adjusting the temp, still no heat, both hoses to and from heater core feel hot, all fuses are good...still no heat. Please help me with this as i am at my wits end trying to fix the heater...its getting cold again and transporting a baby is no fun in a cold car.
Thank you very much for any advice.
If you are sure the temp door arm is going full travel, then i would suspect a heater core problem. If the both hoses on the heater core are hot- the same temperature, then that means heat is not being transferred. If it were working correctly, then the outlet hose should be cooler than the inlet because the heat has been removed from the antifreeze.
I would suggest to flush the heater core. Remove both hoses, and use a garden hose on full flow in one hose for a minute or two. Then do the same in the other hose. Spray hose until water comes out clear and free of debre. This will usually flush out a plugged heater core.

Only changed filter in trans and filled transmission fluid to proper level, with Dexron.
Question: ITS BEEN THIS WAY FOR OVER ONE YEAR, STARTING OFF IN DRIVE, IT WONT SHIFT IN SECOND SMOOTHLY, IF I KEEP MY FOOT ON THE GAS THE ENGINE WILL RACE, I HAVE TO LET OFF THE GAS A LITTLE THE GENTLY LET IT SLIP IN TO SECOND, ITS A LOT BETTER STARTING OFF IN 3RD GEAR, BUT STILL DOES IT A LITTLE, AFTER ITS IN 2 ND NO PROBLEMS.
You most likely have an internal transmission problem failure. The friction clutches and parts wear over the years and the delay between shifts gets longer, and will eventually not shift at all. Sometimes changing the fluid and filter can just make a problem worse or end up even making the transmission non-functional. Unfortunately, there is no way to tell the exact cause without removing and disassembling the transmission. You're most likely due for a complete rebuild, or a replacement transmission.
